Families in Greece with children and relatives in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver, Greek businesses selling to the Greek-Canadian community, and Greek Canadians sending from Canada to Greece.

When to use it

From Greece to Canada, when a son or daughter starts studying or working there, when the holidays come round and family sends gifts, or when a shop on the Danforth is waiting for samples. From Canada to Greece, when certificates, powers of attorney or things for the family home need to arrive.

Sending a parcel from Greece to Canada

From the Danforth in Toronto to Parc-Extension in Montreal, Canada's Greek community stays closely connected to Greece. Sending a parcel to Canada usually means gifts, clothes, books and documents. And the other way round: certificates, powers of attorney and things for homes in Greece.

On City Sender you see DHL, UPS and FedEx side by side, with the final price and estimated delivery time before you book. Big cities are easier to reach than remote northern areas, and volumes rise in the run-up to Christmas.

Every parcel clears Canadian customs with a commercial invoice. Import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the country's rules and are not included in the shipping price. Meat isn't allowed in parcels for personal use.

Useful information

  • Main cities: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa. Remote areas, such as the northern territories, often take longer.
  • Postcodes mix letters and numbers, e.g. M4K 1N2. Add the province code too (ON, QC, BC).
  • Meat isn't allowed in parcels for personal use, whatever the origin. Dairy and other foods are checked by the CFIA.
  • Prescription drugs generally can't be sent by parcel to Canadian residents.
  • Quebec addresses use French. Around Canada Day (1 July), Thanksgiving in October and the run-up to Christmas, deliveries slow down.
