How much does it cost to ship to the USA?

It depends on the weight, the dimensions and the service. On the transatlantic route, couriers charge on whichever is higher, the actual weight or the volumetric weight, so a light but bulky box can cost more than you'd expect. Enter your parcel details and you'll see the final shipping prices straight away. Any import charges are separate.

How many days does delivery to the USA take?

It depends on the service and the destination. The comparison shows the estimated time for each option before you book. For the USA, customs clearance, the distance to the West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii, and volumes before Thanksgiving and Christmas all play a part. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.

Can the courier collect from my address?

Yes. The courier collects from your home, office or warehouse on the pickup day you choose when booking. Have the parcel packed and the commercial invoice printed.

How do I track my shipment?

You track it with the number you receive once your booking is complete. It shows every stage of the route, including when the parcel clears US customs. If anything is needed from the recipient, you'll see it there.

Which courier should I choose for the USA?

It depends on whether price or speed matters more. For the USA you'll see DHL, UPS and FedEx, each with a price and an estimated time. For documents with a deadline, go for the shortest estimate. For holiday gifts, ship early and pick by price.

Are the prices I see final?

For shipping, yes, as long as weight and dimensions are declared correctly. Because the USA is outside the EU, import duties, taxes or fees may apply under local rules. They are not included in the price you see and are normally charged to the recipient. A detailed invoice helps your parcel clear customs more smoothly.

Sending a parcel from Greece to the USA

From Astoria in New York to Chicago's Greektown and Boston, the Greek-American community keeps close ties with Greece. Sending a parcel to the USA means gifts and books for relatives, as well as orders from Greek online shops. And the other way round: powers of attorney and documents for matters in Greece.

On City Sender you see DHL, UPS and FedEx side by side, with the final price and estimated delivery time before you book. Alaska and Hawaii take longer, and volumes rise before Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Every parcel clears US customs with a commercial invoice. Import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the country's rules and are not included in the shipping price.

Useful information

Main cities with a Greek presence: New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and Tarpon Springs in Florida. Alaska and Hawaii take longer.
The ZIP code has 5 digits and goes after the state, e.g. Astoria, NY 11103.
Food shipped by a business needs Prior Notice to the FDA. Gifts bought and sent by an individual to another individual are treated differently.
Outside the EU: CBP customs check with a commercial invoice.
Independence Day (4 July), Thanksgiving (November) and Christmas affect deliveries.
