Question 1

How much does it cost to send a parcel within Greece?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the weight (actual or volumetric, whichever is higher), the dimensions, the route and the service you choose. On City Sender you enter your parcel details once and instantly see prices from ELTA Courier, GLS, DPD, DHL and others side by side, before you book.

Question 2

Is it cheaper than going to the courier's shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On City Sender, prices are up to 60% lower than booking the same service directly with the courier. And you don't have to go anywhere: you book online and, with most services, the courier comes to collect the parcel from the address you give.

Question 3

Which is the cheapest courier for shipping within Greece?

Accepted Answer

No single courier is always the cheapest. The price changes with weight, dimensions and destination, and the differences grow for islands and remote areas. That's why City Sender shows you the available services for your own route every time, so you can choose on price and delivery time.

Question 4

Do you ship to islands and remote areas?

Accepted Answer

Yes. City Sender's comparison shows the price and estimated delivery time of every available service for your specific destination. That matters most on islands and in remote areas, where both the charge and the delivery time vary considerably between couriers.

Question 5

How long does it take to send a parcel within Greece?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the route and the service you choose. City Sender's comparison shows the estimated delivery time of each service before you book, so you can choose between a faster and a cheaper option. Times are the courier's estimates and can be affected by holidays, weather or peak periods.

Question 6

Is the price I see the final price?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the weight and dimensions you declare. If the courier measures something different, the charge may change. So weigh and measure the parcel after packing it, so the volumetric weight is calculated correctly too. If you're unsure, we'll help you before you book.

Question 7

What is volumetric weight and how does it affect the price?

Accepted Answer

It is the weight the courier calculates from the space your parcel takes up. With most services you multiply length × width × height in centimetres and divide by 5,000. A 50 × 40 × 30 cm box has a volumetric weight of 12 kg. If it weighs 8 kg, you are charged for 12 kg, because the higher of the two applies.

Question 8

Can the courier collect the parcel from my address?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with most services. You enter the collection address when you book (home, office or shop) and the courier comes to pick up the parcel. Availability depends on the area and the service you choose.

Question 9

Can I ship with cash on delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The courier collects the amount from the recipient on delivery and City Sender pays it into your account. It is the most common choice for e-shops and online sellers. You add it when you book, where the service you chose supports it.

Question 10

What happens if my parcel is lost, damaged or delayed?

Accepted Answer

You're not left dealing with the courier on your own. You talk to a real person on the City Sender team, who replies within 20 minutes during business hours, and we coordinate the case with the courier until it is resolved. We also explain what a compensation claim needs.
