A parcel's cost doesn't depend on kilos alone. The courier charges the higher of the actual and the volumetric weight, which with most services is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 5,000. A 50 × 40 × 30 cm box is charged as 12 kg even if it weighs 3. So choose the smallest box that safely fits the contents.
Most everyday shipments fall into the parcel category, from clothes and gifts to e-shop products, spare parts and samples, usually up to 25 kg. The City Sender form accepts parcels up to 60 kg. For heavier loads or many kilos at once, compare whether it pays to split them into several parcels or send them as a pallet.
Within Greece, price and delivery time vary most between couriers for islands and remote areas, which is where comparing pays off most. Abroad, shipments to EU countries have no customs duties or import VAT. For countries outside the EU, such as the USA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the parcel goes through a customs check and usually needs a commercial invoice. Import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the destination country's rules, and they are normally paid by the recipient.
To make sure your parcel arrives undamaged, use a sturdy box, fill the gaps so nothing moves, and seal every seam with packing tape. Weigh and measure the parcel after packing: if the courier measures something different from what you declared, the charge may change.

- Volumetric weight: length × width × height in cm divided by 5,000 with most services. You are charged for the higher of actual and volumetric weight.
- Choose the smallest box that safely fits the contents.
- Fill the gaps and seal every seam with packing tape.
- Remove or cover old labels and barcodes on the box.
- For countries outside the EU, prepare a commercial invoice with the description, quantity and value of the contents.
- Dangerous goods, such as flammable liquids or certain lithium batteries, are not accepted without a special process.
- For fragile or valuable contents, check the insurance cover of the service before you book.
