Question 1

Is it cheaper to ship with FedEx through City Sender?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On City Sender, prices are up to 60% lower than booking the same service directly with the courier. Enter the country, weight and dimensions and you see FedEx next to DHL, UPS and others, before you book.

Question 2

FedEx, DHL or UPS: which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

None of them is always the cheapest or the fastest. The ranking changes with the country, weight and dimensions. That's why on City Sender you see them side by side for your own parcel, with price and estimated delivery time, and choose based on what matters to you.

Question 3

Is it the same service as booking directly with FedEx?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your parcel is collected, carried and delivered by FedEx, with its own FedEx tracking number. The difference is that you book online without a FedEx account, see the price next to other couriers and have a real person to help you.

Question 4

How much does it cost to send a parcel with FedEx?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the destination country, the service and the weight, actual or volumetric, whichever is higher, so declare the dimensions correctly. On City Sender you see the FedEx price for your parcel within seconds, next to the other available services.

Question 5

Do I need a FedEx account or contract?

Accepted Answer

No. You can book FedEx on City Sender without a FedEx contract or account, even without signing up. If you ship often, a City Sender account gives you 2% back in CityPoints on every shipment and your full history in one dashboard.

Question 6

How fast is FedEx?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the country and the service. City Sender's comparison shows the estimated time of each FedEx service before you book, next to DHL and UPS. For countries outside the EU, the customs check can add time, which is why correct documents matter.

Question 7

Does the price include duties and taxes?

Accepted Answer

No. The price is the shipping cost, for the weight and dimensions you declare. Within the EU there are no customs duties or import VAT. For countries outside the EU, import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the destination country's rules, and they are normally paid by the recipient.

Question 8

What documents do I need to ship with FedEx outside the EU?

Accepted Answer

To ship goods outside the EU you usually need a commercial invoice with a clear description, quantity and value of each item. Plain documents usually need less. We help you prepare everything correctly, so your parcel is not delayed at customs.

Question 9

How do I track a FedEx shipment?

Accepted Answer

When you book, you get the FedEx tracking number. With it you can follow your parcel at every step, from collection to delivery. With a City Sender account you also see all your shipments in one place.

Question 10

What happens if my parcel is delayed, lost or held at customs?

Accepted Answer

You're not left dealing with FedEx on your own. You talk to a real person on the City Sender team, who replies within 20 minutes during business hours, and we coordinate the case with FedEx until it is resolved. If your parcel is held at customs, we tell you what is being asked for and how to provide it.
