Sending a parcel from Greece to Norway
Plenty of Norwegians spend the winter in Greece and leave in spring with more than a suitcase can hold. Greek companies, from food producers to shipping firms, send samples and paperwork to partners in Oslo and Bergen. Sending a parcel to Norway works the other way too, for homes and businesses in Greece.
On City Sender you see DHL, UPS and FedEx side by side, with the final price and estimated delivery time before you book. Tromsø, Lofoten and the islands usually take longer than Oslo. So do the weeks around Easter and in July.
Norway is outside the EU, so every parcel is checked by customs and travels with a commercial invoice. Import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the country's rules and are not included in the shipping price. Medicines can't be sent to private recipients by parcel.
Useful information
- Main cities: Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger and Tromsø. The north, the islands and villages along the fjords often take longer.
- Postcodes have 4 digits and go before the town, e.g. 0150 Oslo.
- Norway is in the EEA and Schengen but not the EU: every parcel needs a commercial invoice and goes through customs.
- Medicines sent by parcel from abroad to a private person aren't allowed and may be held by customs.
- Svalbard has its own customs rules. Around Easter, 17 May and in July, when many businesses close for the summer holidays, office deliveries slow down.
