Question 1

Is it cheaper to ship with UPS through City Sender?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On City Sender, prices are up to 60% lower than booking the same service directly with the courier. Enter the country, weight and dimensions and you see UPS services next to DHL, FedEx and others, before you book.

Question 2

Is it the same service as booking directly with UPS?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your parcel is collected, carried and delivered by UPS, with its own UPS tracking number. The difference is that you book online without a UPS account, see the price next to other couriers and have a real person to help you.

Question 3

How much does it cost to send a parcel with UPS?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the destination country, the service and the weight, actual or volumetric, whichever is higher. With large boxes volumetric weight matters a lot, so declare the dimensions correctly. On City Sender you see the UPS price for your parcel within seconds.

Question 4

Do I need a UPS account or contract?

Accepted Answer

No. You can book UPS on City Sender without a UPS contract or account, even without signing up. If you ship often, a City Sender account gives you 2% back in CityPoints on every shipment and your full history in one dashboard.

Question 5

How fast is UPS?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the country and the service: UPS offers express and more economical options. City Sender's comparison shows the estimated time of each service before you book, so you can choose between speed and cost. For countries outside the EU, the customs check can add time.

Question 6

Does the price include duties and taxes?

Accepted Answer

No. The price is the shipping cost, for the weight and dimensions you declare. Within the EU there are no customs duties or import VAT. For countries outside the EU, import duties, taxes or fees may apply under the destination country's rules, and they are normally paid by the recipient.

Question 7

What documents do I need to ship with UPS outside the EU?

Accepted Answer

To ship goods outside the EU you usually need a commercial invoice with a clear description, quantity and value of each item. Plain documents usually need less. We help you prepare everything correctly, so your parcel is not delayed at customs.

Question 8

What can't I send with UPS?

Accepted Answer

UPS does not accept dangerous goods without a special process, such as flammable liquids or certain lithium batteries, or items prohibited by the destination country. Rules vary by country and product. If you're unsure about something, ask us before you book.

Question 9

How do I track a UPS shipment?

Accepted Answer

When you book, you get the UPS tracking number. With it you can follow your parcel at every step, from collection to delivery. With a City Sender account you also see all your shipments in one place.

Question 10

What happens if my parcel is delayed, lost or held at customs?

Accepted Answer

You're not left dealing with UPS on your own. You talk to a real person on the City Sender team, who replies within 20 minutes during business hours, and we coordinate the case with UPS until it is resolved. If your parcel is held at customs, we tell you what is being asked for and how to provide it.
