Your booking price is based on the weight and dimensions you enter for each box. During sorting, the courier may check the boxes again. If its measurements don't match what you declared, it charges the shipment based on its own measurements.
How will I be told about the difference?
City Sender sends you a written notice. It may arrive after the shipment has been delivered, if the courier invoices the difference later. The notice shows:
- The pieces, weight and dimensions you declared.
- What the courier recorded, including the actual and volumetric weight.
- The amount of the difference to be paid.
Not always charged
The difference isn't passed on to you in every case. If payment is needed, you'll see it in the notice.
How and by when do I pay?
- The difference must be paid within 3 days of the notice.
- You can pay by payment link or by bank transfer, whichever suits you.
- The payment details are included in the notice.
If the difference isn't paid
If the shipment is still in transit and payment isn't made within 3 days, it may be moved to a secure storage location. Storage and re-shipping costs are yours to cover, and the courier may refuse to carry the shipment.
What if I want to send more boxes than I declared?
Let City Sender know before collection, through the contact form. The waybills may need to be changed or the booking made again, which may delay collection.
How do I avoid a price difference?
- Weigh and measure the box after sealing it.
- Enter the outer dimensions of the packaging, not of the item.
- Enter each box separately, with its own weight and dimensions.
- Enter the weight exactly as the scale shows it, without rounding down.
